🔊 ALC5686 CX31993 HiFi DAC USB Type-C to 3.5mm Audio Cable Adapter
I picked this USB-C to 3.5mm HiFi DAC cable because I needed a compact audio solution for my Samsung S22 Ultra, especially after realizing how average the internal DAC is. This one boasted a 32bit/384kHz decoding chip (ALC5686 + CX31993), which caught my attention.
Delivery took around 14 days to the US East Coast — not Prime-fast, but fair for AliExpress. It came in a small, padded envelope with a branded zip-lock bag inside. First impression? This cable felt premium — surprisingly so. The braided nylon body is stiff, not flimsy, and the gold-plated jack is sturdy.
Plugged it in, and wow — cleaner highs, more depth in mids, and tighter bass with my Sennheiser HD560S. There’s a definite difference in soundstage compared to using a basic adapter. It also worked instantly — no drivers, no fuss.
Pros:
-
Compact, sturdy build
-
Sound noticeably improved over basic adapters
-
Plug-and-play for Android
Cons: – No volume or play/pause controls – A little stiff near the connector
Price vs. US market: At $6–$9, it’s a fraction of the $30–$50 similar DACs cost on Amazon or B&H.
Expectation check: Exceeded. Solid choice for serious listeners on a budget.
US $3.93

🎧 ALC5686 CX31993 HiFi DAC Headphone Amp for iPhone (Lightning)
Needed a Lightning DAC for my older iPhone 11, and this one popped up as a best-seller. Honestly, I was skeptical — iOS and cheap DACs don’t always play nice.
Shipping was about the same — just under 2 weeks. The product is sleek and minimal. Matte black housing with no branding, which I liked.
Performance-wise, it was surprising. iPhone recognized it immediately. Sound was richer, less compressed. Played everything from Spotify to ALAC files with no distortion. Also works with lossless on Apple Music. Not bad.
Pros:
-
Fully iOS-compatible
-
Works with lossless audio
-
Improved clarity and instrument separation
Cons: – Slightly bulkier than Apple’s stock dongle – Doesn’t support inline mic controls
US comparison: Apple’s dongle is $10 but sounds flat. This one competes with $40–$50 DACs like the FiiO KA1.
Expectation check: Honestly better than expected. It’s a permanent part of my audio kit now.
US $7.35

🎶 ALC5686 HiFi DAC USB-C/Lightning Combo Cable
This hybrid DAC cable supports both USB-C and Lightning, which was a huge selling point for me — I switch between Android and iPhone for work.
It came well-packaged in a branded box. Design-wise, it’s super clean. Aluminum alloy ends and a dual head with flexible cable routing.
Using it with both platforms felt seamless. The audio profile is clean and neutral. With FLAC files, I could hear more layering in tracks like jazz or classical. Very little hiss, even with sensitive IEMs.
Pros:
-
Works with iOS and Android
-
Great build quality
-
Stable connection and zero overheating
Cons: – Can be tricky to plug into phones with bulky cases – No inline mic support
Price vs. US: At ~$10, there’s nothing this flexible for under $40 stateside.
Expectation check: It delivered on its hybrid promise. Not just a gimmick.
US $5.64

🔁 ALC5686 CX31993 HiFi DAC Audio Cable – iPhone & Android
This looked nearly identical to the previous one but had slightly different DAC chip tuning, according to reviews. I got it to compare performance with my Moondrop Chu and Pixel 6.
Out of the box, audio quality felt a touch warmer than the other combo DAC. Vocals are more forward, which some might love for pop or vocals-focused genres.
Compatibility was flawless on both OSs, and it didn’t heat up like some cheap DACs do.
Pros:
-
Warmer, more musical tuning
-
Excellent compatibility
-
No distortion at high volumes
Cons: – Slight audio coloration (not fully neutral) – Build isn’t as robust as others
US comparison: Competes with budget iBasso or Hidizs DACs, which cost $30+. This one? $8.
Expectation check: A solid secondary DAC with a unique sound profile. Great for casual listening.
US $4.95

🔊 ALC5686 USB-C to 3.5mm HiFi Audio Decoder (Samsung/Xiaomi)
Targeted my Xiaomi Pad 6 with this one. It promised a clean DAC experience with good power handling.
Out of all eight, this one had the most basic packaging — just a tiny anti-static bag. But the performance? Underrated. It handled high-impedance headphones better than I thought. The sound was dynamic, with great stereo separation.
Pros:
-
Great power delivery
-
Clean treble, controlled bass
-
Super affordable
Cons: – Not visually appealing – Basic finish, feels fragile
US comparison: Sound-wise, it punches above its $5 price tag. Competes with $25 dongles.
Expectation check: Visually meh, aurally awesome.
US $0.99

🎧 USB-C to 3.5mm ALC5686 DAC Audio Interface (Android)
I needed something ultra-budget just to have on the go. This was $4 and highly rated — figured why not?
It’s the most compact in the lineup. No branding, ultra-light. Sound? Surprisingly okay. Better than generic dongles. Clear vocals, although a little less depth.
This is the type of DAC you throw in your bag and forget about until you need it.
Pros:
-
Dirt cheap
-
Works with every Android phone I tried
-
Small and lightweight
Cons: – Average build – Not for audiophiles
US comparison: Barely anything sub-$10 in this space. This is $4 and worth double that.
Expectation check: It met the goal: basic DAC that doesn’t suck.
US $0.99

🔌 JCALLY JA56 ALC5686 Type-C to 3.5mm DAC Amp
JCALLY is a name I’ve seen around Chi-Fi forums, so I was curious. This one is advertised as a more “audiophile-tuned” option.
Arrived in a nice retail box, with foam cutouts and even a tiny instruction card. Build is excellent. The braided cable is thicker, and the aluminum head has laser etching.
Sound is noticeably high-res. Cleanest treble out of all 8 adapters. This one is closer to an actual entry-level portable amp than just a DAC cable.
Pros:
-
Excellent tuning and detail
-
Premium build
-
Works with higher-end headphones
Cons: – Slightly more expensive (~$11) – Rigid cable
US comparison: Sounds like a $50+ dongle DAC. It’s not hype.
Expectation check: One of my favorites. Solid for entry-level audiophiles.
US $1.86

💥 ALC5686 CX31993 HiFi USB DAC for Android
This one is a mid-weight pick for Android — not the cheapest, not the fanciest. I wanted something reliable for use with YouTube, podcasts, and some casual music streaming.
Right out of the package, I liked the soft-touch cable and gold-plated connectors. Plug-and-play again. Audio was clean and distortion-free at mid volumes. Not as dynamic as the JCALLY, but better than basic adapters.
Pros:
-
Reliable
-
Balanced tuning
-
Easy to use
Cons: – Not very powerful – Doesn’t drive high-impedance cans
US comparison: $8 vs. $25+ Amazon options. It wins.
Expectation check: A great mid-tier choice for casual Android users.
US $5.57
🔚 Overall Impression
Honestly, I didn’t expect this level of quality from AliExpress at this price. The ALC5686 and CX31993 chips deliver consistently clean audio across the board. Some were clearly better tuned or better built, but none were bad. Shipping was smooth, compatibility across Android/iOS was excellent, and every item was plug-and-play.
I would definitely recommend these to anyone tired of overpriced dongles in the U.S. market. And yes — I’m already browsing for more DAC toys on AliExpress.
