🔹 Xiaomi TV Box S 3rd Gen (Global Version)
I bought this Xiaomi TV Box S 3rd Gen because I wanted something stable and sleek for streaming 4K content without lags. What caught my eye was the promise of Google TV, Bluetooth 5.2, and WiFi 6 in a small box — all features you don’t easily find under $70 in the US. Plus, the brand reputation of Xiaomi helped seal the deal.
Delivery took about two weeks, which was surprisingly quick. It came well-packaged, with the HDMI cable and remote included.
After connecting it to my LG 4K TV, setup was smooth. The interface is clean, responsive, and the Google Assistant voice control works better than expected. It plays Netflix, YouTube, and Disney+ in UHD flawlessly. What I really liked was the minimal overheating and the strong dual-band WiFi signal.
Pros:
-
Smooth 4K playback
-
Google-certified device
-
Excellent WiFi performance
-
Voice remote with Google Assistant
Cons:
-
Only 2GB RAM, so not ideal for heavy multitasking
-
No Ethernet port
Compared to similar Android TV boxes sold in the US ($100+), this is a great value for money. It absolutely met and even slightly exceeded my expectations.
US $70.09

🔹 Transpeed Android 12 TV Box
I went for the Transpeed Android 12 TV Box (Allwinner H618) as a budget alternative to test for a second room. The 64GB ROM option was attractive, and the specs boasted 8K support (even if I didn’t need it).
Delivery took around 16 days. Unboxing it, it felt lighter than expected, but the build was okay.
In use, it’s decent for casual streaming and browsing. The Android 12 UI is slightly clunky but functional. It handled 4K videos on YouTube and some downloaded content well, but I had to sideload some apps. The voice remote is usable, though not always accurate.
Pros:
-
Huge storage space
-
Fairly smooth for the price
-
Handles 4K decently
-
Dual-band WiFi
Cons:
-
Basic interface
-
Poor app compatibility (Netflix in SD)
-
No official certification
This box is ~$30 cheaper than anything similar in the US but comes with compromises. Still, for the price, it mostly met expectations.
US $27.25

Shipping was fast — just 12 days.
Setup was quick. The UI is a bit minimal, but functional. 4K playback is good, though not HDR. Apps like YouTube and Plex work fine, but Netflix and Prime Video max out at 480p due to lack of certification.

Cons:
-
No Widevine L1, so streaming limited
-
UI lacks polish
Compared to US media players, this feels like a solid $40 investment, perfect for side rooms or budget setups. Expectations met.

Final Thoughts
I honestly didn’t expect these TV boxes to perform so well for the price. Some were better than others, but overall, I’m impressed with the quality, especially compared to similarly priced products in the US. Delivery times were reasonable, packaging solid, and everything worked on arrival.
Would I recommend these? Yes — if you know what you’re buying and manage your expectations. I’ll definitely be ordering more, especially as gifts or secondary setups. AliExpress proved again that budget tech doesn’t have to feel cheap.
