ESP32 C3 SuperMini Development Board
I’ve been experimenting with DIY smart home setups for a while, and I picked up the ESP32 C3 SuperMini Development Board because of its compact size and compatibility with both WiFi and Bluetooth. The low price compared to similar boards on Amazon was a big factor—on AliExpress I paid about half of what I’d find locally.
Delivery took a little over two weeks, which is decent considering it came from overseas. The board arrived well-packed in anti-static material. Getting it set up was smooth; the drivers installed easily, and I was able to flash firmware without issues.
Pros: very small size, stable WiFi connection, great for battery-powered projects, cost-efficient. Cons: no USB-C cable included, documentation is not as clear as it could be.
Compared to US prices, this is an absolute steal. It fully met my expectations and even surprised me with how stable it runs given its price.

ESP32-C3 Expansion Board
I chose the ESP32-C3 Expansion Board to give myself more flexibility when testing sensors and external modules. It pairs perfectly with the SuperMini, which was my plan from the start.
The package came in about three weeks, slightly longer than the SuperMini, but everything was intact. The board feels sturdy, and soldering quality is fine. It really makes prototyping easier because I don’t have to deal with breadboards all the time.
Pros: neat layout, multiple IO options, saves time in prototyping. Cons: pins aren’t labeled as clearly as on some US brands, shipping wait is a downside.
Price-wise, it’s about one-third of what I’d pay for a similar expansion board on SparkFun or Adafruit. It met my expectations and simplified my workflow.

Pros: large crisp display, wireless CarPlay works, affordable. Cons: installation is tricky, speakers could sound better, UI isn’t as polished as Pioneer/Kenwood.
Still, for less than half the US retail price, it exceeded my expectations.
