🛸 RunCam Phoenix 2 SP Camera (Night Vision)
This camera caught my eye because of its impressive low-light performance claims, perfect for flying at dusk. I use FPV drones recreationally and needed a solid cam that wouldn’t completely blow my budget. The specs looked promising, especially with a wide voltage range (5–36V), small form factor, and compatibility with both 4:3 and 16:9 screens.
Shipping took about 15 days to the US — pretty standard for AliExpress, and the packaging was decent. The camera arrived undamaged and included mounting hardware.
In use, the night vision capabilities were much better than I expected. The image is crisp even in dim light, and switching between aspect ratios was smooth. It works seamlessly with my existing OSD system and didn’t add noticeable latency.
Pros:
-
Excellent low-light performance
-
Wide voltage range
-
Lightweight, compact design
-
Affordable price (~$30 vs $50–60 in US shops)
Cons: − No instructions included − Needs firmware update for optimal performance
It definitely met my expectations and even outperformed some of my older Foxeer cams. At half the price of US alternatives, this was a win.
US $23.7

🛸 RunCam Phoenix 2 SP V3 FPV Camera
I bought this version thinking I might get some improved image processing or reliability — and I was right. The V3 delivers slightly better clarity and improved color balance over the original Phoenix 2 SP. Still perfect for low-light conditions, it’s become my go-to cam for freestyle night flying.
Shipping was fast — under two weeks. Build quality feels premium despite the plastic casing.
Pros:
-
Improved color and clarity
-
Great price-performance ratio
-
Works well even in shadowy environments
-
Easy to set up
Cons: − Slightly bulkier than I expected − Needs a bit more tuning out of the box
Compared to similar FatShark or Caddx models in the US, the V3 is a serious bargain. It exceeded my expectations, especially at under $35.
US $26.07

🛸 RunCam Phoenix 2 SE V2 (Special Edition)
This version is the most refined. I chose it because it’s labeled for both freestyle and day/night usage. The SE V2 truly combines everything good from earlier models with even more polished color reproduction and detail.
Out of the box, it felt premium. Delivery took 13 days. The camera worked perfectly with my DJI air unit and held up great in flight tests.
Pros:
-
Excellent dynamic range
-
Sharp colors in both day and night
-
Durable and ultra-light
-
Easily switchable between PAL/NTSC and aspect ratios
Cons: − Slightly pricier than other RunCam models − Needs soldering for best wiring
The price is still around $35, way cheaper than US alternatives with similar performance. Totally satisfied.
US $25.27

🎮 DJI RC Sunshade & Silicone Protective Case
I bought this case because summer’s been brutal and glare on my DJI RC 2 screen makes flying mid-day a pain. This case solved that — and added a bit of shock protection too.
The silicone feels grippy and fits snugly. The sunshade attaches cleanly. Delivery took about 16 days.
Pros:
-
Blocks glare effectively
-
Fits DJI RC 2 perfectly
-
Affordable and durable
-
Prevents scratches
Cons: − Silicone attracts dust easily − No instructions on installation
Compared to US accessories (usually $25+), this one was around $10 and does the job just fine. I’m glad I got it.
US $3.46

Pros:
-
Bright and visible even at 100 ft
-
Easy USB recharge
-
Lightweight and drone-safe
-
Cheap (~$6–8)
Cons: − Adhesive could be stronger − No battery status indicator

🧱 SoloGood APEX EVO Frame Kit (for Vista/RunCam)
I got this for a new freestyle build using a Caddx Vista and RunCam Link. This carbon fiber frame feels incredibly strong. All screw holes lined up perfectly and the fit for the O3 air unit is seamless.
Shipping was 2.5 weeks. No parts missing, and the cutouts were clean and burr-free.
Pros:
-
Excellent carbon quality
-
Fits DJI Vista/O3 perfectly
-
Durable and crash-resistant
-
Great price (~$35 vs $70+ in the US)

🎮 DJI Remote Controller Strap Lanyard
Neck strain was becoming a problem on long flights, so I ordered this strap. It’s padded, adjustable, and fits my DJI Phantom controller and Avata 2 equally well.

Pros:
-
Comfortable even for long sessions
-

🧱 SoloGood APEX EVO (Second unit)
Again, I ordered a second one of these frames for a different setup with 2207 motors. Holds up just as well. I’m honestly surprised this isn’t a more talked-about frame in the FPV community.

🛸 RunCam Phoenix 2 SP (Third Unit)
I wanted to stock up before they discontinue this model or raise the price. It’s reliable, clear, and now a standard on my 5” builds. The consistency across all three units is worth mentioning — no duds.
US $31.3
Final Thoughts
All in all, this was one of my best AliExpress hauls yet. Every product arrived in working condition, with better-than-expected performance. I paid less than half of what similar items would cost in the US. The cameras especially blew me away — RunCam really nailed the balance of quality and affordability. Delivery times were reasonable, nothing took over 3 weeks.
Would I recommend these? Absolutely. If you’re into FPV drones, or use DJI gear often, AliExpress is a goldmine when you know what to look for. I’ll definitely be ordering more.
