🕷️ Spider 4-Layer 50mm Metal Herb Grinder
Out of all the herb grinders I saw on AliExpress, this spider-themed one immediately grabbed my attention. The bold design with a golden-black spider motif looked sleek and powerful, and I loved that it came in the top-selling category. I was curious whether something so affordable could perform as well as some of the name-brand grinders in the US.
Delivery took just under three weeks, which was pretty fast for AliExpress. The packaging was decent — a bubble wrap envelope inside a small cardboard box. Nothing fancy, but it arrived intact and scratch-free.
The build is impressive — it’s all metal, with sharp diamond-shaped teeth and a magnetic lid that snaps into place with precision. It grinds herbs finely and evenly, with little resistance. The mesh screen filters kief surprisingly well, and the bottom compartment collects a good amount.
Pros: – Durable zinc alloy build – Smooth grinding mechanism – Strong magnet keeps it shut – Kief catcher works efficiently
Cons: – A little heavy for portability – No included brush or scraper
In the US, a grinder like this would run you at least $25–$35. I paid under $10 including shipping. For the price, this is a serious steal. It surpassed my expectations in every way.
US $5.04

🐶 Dog 50mm Metal Herb Grinder
I ordered the dog-themed 4-layer herb grinder mainly because of its cute bulldog design — it felt playful but still solid and masculine. I’m also into collecting unique grinder designs, and this one checked that box.
Out of the package, it felt weighty and premium. The paint is matte black, and the bulldog print hasn’t faded or chipped after a month of use. Functionality-wise, it works as smoothly as higher-end grinders I’ve used. The teeth are razor-sharp and cut through even sticky herb easily.
Pros: – Unique, high-detail design – Solid metal feel – No paint chipping or fading – Works great for daily use
Cons: – Paint has a bit of chemical smell when brand new (fades quickly)
This grinder cost me less than $9. Similar grinders here go for $30+, so again, I’m blown away by the quality-to-price ratio. Definitely met — and exceeded — expectations.
US $4.83

🦍 Gorilla Herb Grinder 4-Layer
The gorilla herb grinder stood out with its fierce design and gritty vibe. I bought this one as a novelty piece to go with the dog grinder. It’s also 50mm, so it fits well with my other gear.
What I didn’t expect was how smooth the twist action would be — it’s perfectly engineered. The grind is fluffy but consistent, which is ideal. Plus, the laser-etched gorilla hasn’t scratched or worn down at all.
Pros: – Sharp teeth grind smoothly – High-quality image detailing – Compact but solid – Threads don’t catch
Cons: – The magnet could be a little stronger – Some metal dust when brand new — needed cleaning before first use
At $8 and change, it’s a fantastic alternative to the $35+ novelty grinders on Etsy or headshops. Expectations fully met.
US $4.8

👨🚀 Astronaut Herb Grinder 50mm
This astronaut grinder caught my eye because of the design — it reminded me of retro sci-fi posters. The art is super clear and glossy in person, even better than the photos.
Performance-wise, this is probably one of the best grinders I got from this batch. It grinds herbs super fast and doesn’t jam, even with stickier buds. The threading is smooth, and the keif catcher is generous.
Pros: – Sci-fi design looks stunning in person – Excellent grind quality – No metal burrs or sharp edges – Threads and magnet feel premium
Cons: – Slight paint wear after several weeks of use
Compared to something like a Space Case, this does 90% of the job at 20% of the price. I’d say this is easily one of my top three favorites from the order.
US $5.04

🃏 Joker Metal Herb Grinder
The joker-themed grinder was an impulse buy — the artwork just looked too wild to resist. It’s got a comic book, edgy vibe that adds character to my collection.
It functions similarly to the others — sharp teeth, magnetic lid, and a strong mesh screen. I did notice this one was a bit tighter to twist at first, but it broke in nicely after a few uses.
Pros: – Great for collectors – Eye-catching design – Decent grind size and smooth performance
Cons: – Slightly stiff out of the box – Image may scratch with heavy use
For under $10, it delivers. It doesn’t outperform my astronaut grinder, but it holds up well and looks cool doing it.
US $4.8

🐆 Leopard Print Herb Grinder (40/50mm)
I wanted something a little more stylish, and the leopard print grinder fit the bill. It’s the only one with a pattern all over the body, and it actually looks pretty chic.
It’s lighter than the others — not a bad thing, just different. The 40mm size makes it perfect for on-the-go use. It works fine for small batches but doesn’t feel quite as sturdy.
Pros: – Very portable and stylish – Grinds okay for casual use – Great value
Cons: – Not as durable as larger grinders – No kief screen in the smaller version
At $6, it’s a fun little accessory. Don’t expect premium performance, but it’s great for occasional or travel use.
US $3.6

🌿 2-Layer Grinder Set w/ Rolling Tray & Tube
This rolling kit was a surprise hit. I got it mainly for the metal tray and the bonus accessories, but the two-layer grinder itself isn’t bad either.
The kit comes with a plastic roller, storage tube, and metal tray with decent artwork. The grinder is simple — just two parts — but it gets the job done for basic grinding.
Pros: – All-in-one kit is convenient – Roller and tube are handy – Budget-friendly
Cons: – Two-layer grinder isn’t ideal for collecting kief – Build quality is basic
Honestly, for under $7, this is worth it just for the tray and storage. Great starter set.
US $3.12

🎨 Cartoon Herb Grinder (50mm)
The cartoon grinder came in random design, and I ended up with a trippy mushroom-themed one. It’s bright, colorful, and the print hasn’t faded yet after daily use.
Functionally, it’s identical to the Spider and Dog versions. The grind is even, and the magnetic closure is tight. The screen works well for fine herb.
Pros: – Unique and random print – Reliable grind – Durable and tightly built
Cons: – Random design might not be everyone’s preference
At this price, it’s a gamble worth taking if you like surprises. Definitely lived up to the hype.
US $4.8

💗 Pink Girly Grinder (40mm/50mm)
I bought this pink aluminum grinder as a gift. It’s super cute and surprisingly high-quality — not just a novelty item. The finish is smooth, with a nice metallic pink tone.
The grinding action is clean and efficient. The 40mm version is compact and very portable, and perfect for small daily use.
Pros: – Great gift idea – High-quality build – Stylish and functional
Cons: – Not ideal for heavy-duty grinding
It looks and works like something from a boutique smoke shop, but I only paid around $8. A total win.
US $1.19

🌟 Gold Spider Grinder (Duplicate w/ Color Variation)
This is essentially the same build as the first Spider grinder, but with a gold-on-gold colorway. It’s a flashier version and looks premium. I actually prefer the look of this one.
Performance is identical — sharp teeth, great grind, good kief collection.
Pros: – Elegant gold finish – Same solid build as original – Great for display
Cons: – Attracts fingerprints easily
If you’re into gold accessories, this is the one to get. I may keep this one as a display piece more than daily use.
US $6.25
💬 Final Thoughts
This AliExpress order honestly blew me away. I wasn’t expecting such consistency across 10 different grinders, especially considering the low price. Most items felt as durable — or even better — than grinders I’ve bought in US smoke shops for triple the cost.
Would I recommend these? Absolutely — especially if you’re into themed designs or are starting your own collection. I’ll definitely be ordering more soon, possibly the glow-in-the-dark or metallic rainbow styles next.
